The first TREN workshop, held March 20–21, 2025 at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, marked the beginning of a structured statewide planning process.

Participants included researchers, network engineers, and institutional representatives from the four anchor universities and several partner organizations. Over two days, attendees reviewed Tennessee’s current cyberinfrastructure landscape, identified critical gaps, and began framing the requirements for a 100G statewide backbone.

The workshop report from this session is now available.

This workshop was supported by the National Science Foundation under Award #2430341.
