The second TREN workshop, held June 19–20, 2025 at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, built on the foundation established at the inaugural workshop in Cookeville.
With expanded attendance from partner institutions across the state, participants advanced the regional cyberinfrastructure needs assessment and began mapping connectivity requirements for Tennessee’s higher education, healthcare, and government sectors.
The workshop continued to surface the scale of the gap: Tennessee’s public universities have historically operated without the high-speed dedicated research networking infrastructure available to institutions in neighboring states.
This workshop was supported by the National Science Foundation under Award #2430341.
